GSA Issues Field Guide for Cybersecurity Risk Prevention

The General Services Administration’s (GSA) 18F digital services unit has released a field guide to help federal agencies mitigate cyber risks in their systems. The federal field guide covers various topics related to cyber strategy development including planning, acquisition and execution. Other recommendations include executing incremental technology deployment and developing a budget strategy for risk mitigation prototyping efforts.

GSA Advances FPDS Reporting Functions Transition to Beta SAM Website; Judith Zawatsky Quoted

The General Services Administration (GSA) will retire the reporting functions on the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) website after Oct. 17th to further encourage users to use the Data Bank tool on the System for Award Management’s (SAM) beta website. GSA decided to move the FPDS’ administrative, static, standard and ad hoc reporting functions to the beta SAM website in March 2020.

OMB Releases Interim Rule to Address IT Supply Chain Security Risks

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has issued an interim final rule detailing how the Federal Acquisition Security Council will evaluate threat information and recommend issuance of orders to remove or exclude certain products from future procurements or information systems as part of efforts to protect the information and communications technology and services supply chain.
